“I’d been a driver for 8 years when I got deactivated. Uber gave me a number to call to find out why I lost my job out of nowhere but the number didn’t work. I can’t even order an Uber as a passenger now. There’s no due process for drivers.” -Bernard, Chicago Gig Alliance driver

Yes, the mayor and governor were working with Uber/Lyft the whole time, prioritizing their profits.

Council was with working class people to help them meet their needs.

Why is the mayor bumping this? Its not news. It’s just proof that his priority was always the corporations.

The Minneapolis City Council was poised to pass its own rideshare minimum wage later this week. However, now that it would soon be void, Council Member Robin Wonsley — a months-long proponent of the proposal — says the final vote is off the table. kstp.com/kstp-news/top-…

Minnesota has passed the strongest labor protections for rideshare drivers in the nation.

Among other wins, the bill raises driver pay by 20% by setting a new state minimum wage.

Drivers lifted the bill's sponsor on their shoulders after it passed.

Timberwolves, UMN workers, and Uber/Lyft drivers all won on the same day (I knew nothing about MN basketball until today)

Woo-hoo! MN Senate just passed a bill to end the Minneapolis 2040 lawsuit & protect cities from similar litigation. On a 34-14 vote, 'Comp Plan Clarity' is on its way to the Governor!

I joined esme murphy to talk about the huge win for drivers last night. Our City Council pushing this issue and standing strong for over 2 years is going to lead to Minnesota being only the 2nd state in the country to pass statewide TNC regulations.

It’s very important to thank great council members like .Aurin Chowdhury Council Member W12 .Robin4mpls and Chavez .Jason Chavez - Minneapolis Ward 9 for the fact that they stood strong. They didn’t waiver. Sen Fateh worked hard, but the first step was not backing down from these corporations and their threats.
