Very interesting post and thread by Oisín McGann - well worth reading. Children are reading diferently - he's 100% right. We need to listen to them and create original, engaging books to keep them reading.
I am delighted to see I am the Wind: Irish Poems for Children Everywhere on the The Reading Agency #SummerReadingChallenge
You go, little book!
In Trinity College Dublin I spent a lot of time protesting and marching. I admire the Trinity students greatly. And well done to professors and staff who stood with them.
I was in school with David Landy. Always a smart fellow, even then! Thank you for this update David Landy
On my way back to Dublin after an amazing visit to Mayo - Blacksod, Belmullet, Westport and Castlebar.
Thanks so much to Darina and all Mayo Library 💚❤️📚 for looking after me so well. And thanks to all the teachers and children I met!
I hope to be back in October.
This news only amplifies the importance of supporting local and Irish businesses. Your Irish retailer offers an alternative in most cases. The effort made during the pandemic to support Irish businesses who were at risk of closing, applies even more so now. #ShopLocal #ShopIrish

I had a great time in Westport today. I met lots of history mad school children in Westport Library this morning and visited the beautiful TertuliaBooksWestport in the afternoon. Thanks to their children’s book club for the warm welcome. Castlebar library in the morning. Can’t wait!
I loved this book - it’s stayed with me for months now. Clever, sweet, touching and so well plotted. Very, very different and original. You can buy it Halfway up the Stairs too!
Well done to Irish writer John Dougherty for his shortlisting for Oscar's Book Prize 📚📚📚☘️☘️☘️
