In The Gambia, 25,000 tonnes of onions are consumed yearly but almost half are imported.

We're working to change this through the West African Competitiveness Programme (WACOMP) by backing 19,000 small farmers to grow onions commercially. 🧅 🌱

Noel was an early casualty of COVID-19 in Malawi, and subsequently became a vaccine advisor, encouraging others to get vaccinated.

He’s now amongst a team of 200 ‘vaccine champions’ who we have recruited on an @amref_worldwide initiative being supported by @rockefellerfdn.

Meet Stella, an entrepreneur from Malawi taking part in our Rural Women's Entrepreneurs Programme.

Stella is amongst 200 local women to start their own small business selling traditional clothing - chitenji. Now she has bought a new house and invested in livestock.
