9 March sees our first Come and Sing under our new MD Ben Thapa

If you’re curious about what it’s like to sing in a choir, here’s the chance to try it out. We’ll go on a journey through some amazing music across the day. There will be cake, and we finish in time for the rugby!

This does mean that Ben Thapa will be unable to take our rehearsal tonight: however we do have the wonderful @RebeccaOutram1 in place. 745 at Christ Church East Sheen - new members always welcome!

Also, we are open to new members on all parts: we offer a friendly, non-accusatory, fast paced approach. Rehearsals on Tuesday eves.

I sang around 20 times last year, under strict Covid mitigation rules, with 2 different choirs, a total of 60-70 singers. Not one singer contracted Covid during that time. And that was before vaccinations. What data is there that singing together is a risk?

We were able to rehearse safely for a few weeks last year, before vaccinations, without one of our number being infected. So what is the explanation for why the preventative measures we took back then are now inadequate? Especially now most of our members are vaccinated!

@SheenGateChoir shares the frustration of thousands of amateur choirs around the country at the appaling about face by Department for Culture, Media and Sport. We had to cancel our Tuesday rehearsal, which was months in the making, at a few hours' notice.

Why have they reneged on the relaxation of the rules for amateur singers? WHY, WHY, WHY?
