Waxwings still about locally yesterday! Surely won’t be long before they head back across the North Sea? They’ve been pleasing the crowds far and wide since arriving last November. ‘Twas a Waxwing Winter indeed. Haste ye return!

A Peregrine was found mortally injured on Dove Stone nature reserve in the Peak District National Park on 4 April. Sadly, due to the severity of its injuries the bird had to be euthanised. (1/8)

Smart turn out for our annual spring wander around Orgreave. 23 souls, unexpected ☀️ and 46 species. Most major targets seen/heard inc Cetti’s, Whitethroat, Wheatear, Swifts, Swallow, HM, SM, LRP and, late on, Arctic Tern, Yellow Wag passed thro’.
