Update on this week's Soul in a Bowl groups!
They cooked chicken sharwarma kebabs, donner kebabs, chips, coleslaw, salad, yogurt & mint sauce, ice-cream layered with raspberries, raspberry coulis & dark chocolate. All made from scratch. Amazing work by amazing people! 🤩🤩🤩

Another busy night sustaining & supporting those who come to us -
Chicken, Leek & Mushroom pie, mash, Sausage, yorkshires & chips with lots of cake for puds!

A VERY busy night for our volunteers who served Dafydd’s lasagne & garlic bread, Mogs’s cottage pie & veg
Maria made strawberry & cream and peach & cream rolls, Ruth made a red velvet cake in memory of a special young man which was given to all our guests in the takeaway bags ❤️

At our Soul in a Bowl groups this week it was ‘Breakfast & Victoria Sponge Cake’ week!
All 3 groups put their own spin on their breakfasts, and this meant that the eggs kindly donated by Christleton Orchard Range eggs were scrambled, fried & poached!
Huge enjoyment this week!

Yesterday the Govt released the new homelessness numbers in England.

Increased numbers of those homeless/ threatened with homelessness over the last year.

Record high numbers in temporary accom, including families.

At Soul Kitchen the need for our support is greater than ever.

A busy busy week for our Soul in a Bowl groups - 3 sessions, , 2 VIP visitors, a garden makeover, goods & support delivered to those that needed it, and a trial run of ‘in house' Level 2 food hygiene certificates. A cracking week full of laughs, banter and most of all, support❤️

A lovely evening offering support to all those that visited -hot showers, clean underwear, toiletries & fabulous food. Donna’s chicken curry with rice & naans, David Joinson Quality Meats sausages with chips & beans.

Every Saturday evening, we run our Drop-in at Campbell Community Hall in Chester. We offer hot meals, beverages, clothing, and shower facilities, but most importantly, we provide essential support and meaningful conversations to our guests. #Community #Chester #Volunteers

THANK YOU to the team @ Succession Wealth Chester who weeded, painted & planted at the community centre where we hold our Monday Soul in a Bowl sessions
The herbs planted will be used in our cooking, meals can be enjoyed outside, and we may get a bbq to hone those cooking skills

Another shout out please for a 3 seater sofa with fire labels and curtains please 🙏

Our Soul in a Bowl group had a supporter and social media follower come and visit today - he had a brew with us and chatted to the group who were discussing their plans to cook a fry up breakfast’ next week - he popped out and retuned with some gifts for the group ❤️
