The threat of severe thunderstorms in Alabama overnight will be generally along and south of U.S. 80 (Demopolis to Selma to Montgomery to Opelika).

The main threats are strong (in some cases damaging) straight line winds, hail, heavy rain, and flooding.

Strong straight line winds are likely with the storms moving through Elmore, Tallapoosa, and Montgomery counties

The risk of severe storms has ended from I-20 north… strong to severe storms will remain possible over the southern half of the state overnight. The main threats are large hail, strong, gusty winds, and flooding.
