Southwark Students learned about Bessie Coleman, as part of their Black History Month Curriculum. Coleman was the first African American woman to hold a pilot license. Students wrote some of her iconic quotes in chalk including, 'as soon as I can walk, I'm going to fly!'.

Today Governor Josh Shapiro proposed $11.5 million for afterschool programs, which provide crucial mentorship opportunities &reduce violence in our communities. As co-Chair of the House Afterschool Caucus, I’ve toured many of these programs & am excited to make this funding a reality!

Creativity was flowing at Key school! Coloring is an unmatched activity for cold winter days. Students designed and colored their own sweaters and another group colored penguins wearing winter gear.
