The principle of the freedom of speech is an incredibly important value that Albertans hold and our universities should be the centre of that.

'Let's learn from the [encampment], not reject it,' political science professor David Kahane says at a rally at the University of Alberta in solidarity for People's University for Palestine YEG.

Police allowed these guys to occupy the capital city for three weeks, but in Alberta when students protested they were assaulted by police on the same day they arrived.

.Bill Blair Let’s unleash our post secondary research and development in our pursuit of North American safety and deterrence. Defense industry is compatible with economic growth, research, development, and commercialization.

Just a reminder that student journalists are right there, providing in-depth coverage of the university encampments across Canada and the US when mainstream media barely offers one article, if any

Another day, another chance for the UCP to ignore experts who are telling them that Bill 18 is a disaster for our post secondary institutions.

It is no surprise to me that it is my racialized and Indigenous women colleagues who are feeling the violence of what happened at the University of Alberta.

The security camera overlooking the Quad is a reminder that Big Brother is watching.

You ALLOWED students to be harmed this morning, right on campus grounds!!!

You did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to protect them & keep them safe.

No red tape? Minister, all Bill 18 does is create MORE red tape by blocking federal funding.

It undermines academic freedom & integrity of Alberta post-secondary institutions. You're playing political games with the future of our academic institutions.

We expect this UCP gov't to act in the interests of our communities instead of the interests of their egos.

Bill 18 will open the door to political censorship in post-secondary institutions that has no place in a democratic society such as ours.

Since Budget 2024, PSIs have experienced unprecedented cuts & are relying more on tuition and fees to sustain themselves.

Bill 18 puts even more pressure on institutions and is about maintaining top-down ideological control. It needs to be scrapped.
