'Testing the viability of SABAP2 atlas data to create indicators across South Africa'. Citizen science and the use of indicators have become invaluable to researchers across the globe.
Yet there is a distinct lack of these projects within the global south.

Morphometric analyses of birds have been conducted largely across Global North regions though a lack of literature on the topic in the Global South leaves us with an incomplete understanding as to how birds across the globe respond to urbanisation.

Count data collected by citizen scientists are revealing population declines in many widespread and common European bird species.

So far, the success of methods aimed at halting and reversing these declines has been limited.

Black-faced Spoonbills (BFS) are endangered species with a range confined to the coastal area in East Asia. In 1990, the global population was estimated to be below 300. Habitat loss and pollution pose great threats to the endangered spoonbill.

No correlation between territory ranks for App and Observation data. Even large and easily observable species that regularly encounter people would benefit from use of GPS/accelerometer tags for collection of comprehensive behavioural data

Productivity varies more between sites than years → sites with consistently low productivity could be targeted.

Survival often varies more between years (asynchronously) than sites → local actions to boost survival in poor years likely to be challenging.
