Benbecula, 2023

The day started with a sea eagle followed by a visit to NHS Benbecula after I reacted to a tick. There was golf at Benbecula and then short eared owls all over The Uists. A beautiful crossing from Berneray to Leverburgh and nowadays couple of nights on Harris. All good!

Good morning Benbecula !!

North Uist The topographic interest of Benbecula lies in its coast. There are fine, sandy beaches and fretted outcrops of Lewisian gneiss. Peat exposed by recent erosion merits investigation QRA if it hasn't been already. Wood and at least one flattened tree stump.

Absolutely superb effort by the Loganair pilots on today's mail plane to Benbecula. Over 2 hours of circling and trying to land in atrocious conditions but their sheer persistence and skill made sure that a lot of Christmas presents will arrive on time! Brilliant job guys 👏
