Spent this evening planting up the newly mulched orchard lane that runs right through the centre of our market garden. Added blackcurrant, strawberries, borage, French sorrel and Japanese bunching onion.

It’s was late but the bees were still having a good go at the comfrey.

Until a few days ago this stretch of field was full of seed and plants for conservation (borage, kale, quinoa etc) which sustained the linnets, stonechats, meadow pipits etc and housed thousands of insects- and now it’s been cut back to nothing. What a waste.. ☹️

Transplanting continues! Basil & more Borage. Pretty much be transplanting and bed prepping all day.

Lavender, spiderwort, and borage are putting on a stunning show — so naturally I asked Heather to paint me a set inspired by them 💜💙

Borage is blooming.

That’s one big Borage! Self seeded from last season. 3rd year Echinacea in the back of my Ghetto Garden is budding nicely. Installed a 30% shade cloth yesterday to knock off a little intensity of the mid day sun.
I’m a little late but it’s NEVER too late.

Edible flowers!

What should I do with them? I’m interested in making mocktails.

I’m growing borage, to make candy!

some borage is too hot, some borage is too cold. this borage is in the pot, thats nine days old

Today is World Bee Day 🐝

Honey bees are frequent visitors to the viaduct but so are bumble bees like this one.

Created my first flower essence. Borage for courage. A purified heart remedy for those experiencing grief, loss, and sadness. This plant also enhances psychic powers and invites in feelings of safety.
