Keeping with the birdsong theme from Saturday’s 34 mile #BrumsBirdlife walk, it was wonderful to confirm that both Garden Warbler and Lesser Whitethroat are holding territories Bibbey’s Wild Farms
The Dingles are looking absolutely stunning at the moment too 😎✨

My challenge yesterday, in memory of my great father, was to record #BrumsBirdlife on a 34 mile walk across a small sample of the city’s open spaces (that are oases for wildlife & sanctuaries for us), whilst also meeting the “unsung heroes” that look after them…..
What better way to reflect on the wonderful conversations had with so many “unsung heroes” yesterday during the #BrumsBirdlife event than to walk the 7km butterfly transects Bibbey’s Wild Farms
11 Orange Tip

Delighted & proud to meet up with Chris Millward Jnr on The Queslett Nature Reserve as part of #westmidlandsalldayer #BrumsBirdlife . Nice to meet BOSF Mary Kennedy & `Barny` Chris was doing a 34 mile fund raising walk in memory of his late father.
Today was fantastic, following Chris Millward Jnr journey across 34 miles of Birmingham's green spaces as he documented #BrumsBirdlife and met with volunteers across the city. He has been so inspirational! Especially considering he started at 2.30am this morning - an amazing effort!
Great to see members of the Friends of Perry Hall Park meeting up with Chris Millward Jnr in their local park during this epic walk today! If you are joining in today, remember you can share your bird sightings on social media using #BrumsBirdlife .

It's been a wonderful day, Chris Millward Jnr met up with @The Friends of Queslett Nature Reserve on his journey through Birmingham's green spaces documenting #BrumsBirdLife ! This is a special place for him with fond memories from his childhood, where he used to help his father look after the local wood.
3:20am and Wren, Robin and blackbird are all at it, under our artificial lights…
#BrumsBirdlife
The goal from 2:30am to 5:30am was to walk from King’s Norton LNR to The Hagley Road recording #BrumsBirdlife and the build up to the dawn chorus. A male Tawny Owl was the first of 12 species recorded….
These green corridors that run through the city are so important to #BrumsBirdlife and the rest of Nature.
Obviously that includes us!

Please all follow BOSF & share 😎
I was really pleased to gather more records for the iNaturalist project @The Friends of Queslett Nature Reserve to assist with this urban oasis’s development plan, whilst training for last weekend’s 34 mile #BrumsBirdlife walk.
I’m looking forward to meeting the friends to get more people involved😎
