This week I'm in Vienna attending the #UNOOSA Legal Subcommittee of United Nations #COPUOS (United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space). I'm here as a technical expert to support the UK delegation and present updates on #SpaceResources activities in the UK.

🇺🇳 United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) Director Aarti Holla-Maini delivered her remarks to COPUOS, highlighting achievements over the last year:

1️⃣7️⃣ States have received #SpaceLaw technical advisory services through the Space Law for New Space Actors project

HoD of 🇵🇱 stated today during #LSC COPUOS: 'The Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression against Ukraine manifestly violates international law and has multiple negative consequences for international cooperation especially in the space sector.

Back in Vienna 🇺🇳 this time for the LSC COPUOS meeting, discussing legal aspects of the peaceful uses of outer space 🛰️

#UN #COPUOS from 15th to 26th April in Vienna. Ambassador Schmidt-Bremme gave the 🇩🇪 statement.  He stressed the pivotal role of the UN & the German commitment to advance the further development of relevant law, to enable future generations the use of outer space. 🇺🇳🇩🇪🚀
