Has consideration been given to how disabled people will be impacted by this scheme? It's not a simple process for many disabled citizens to return bottles & cans. Particularly challenging for people with mobility impairments or those who can't drive. Another !

Well said Holly Cairns TD The only way we can sustainably thrive, contribute & participate in all areas of life & society is if there is equity. A payment would give us the security to meet the additional 8,000-12,000e cost of having a disability.

Disabled people do not have equal rights in Ireland. Forced to make an impossible choice: retain entitlement to disability supports. OR attempt to participate & lose support.

Doesn’t Heather Humphreys & Co know that both disability the are real &non-negotiable?

The transferral of the back onto the disabled person who tries to work is a huge barrier in the precarious competitive world of self-employment & entrepreneurship. It means PWD must first earn 10,000e approx for disability cost before business costs. Dr Tom Clonan

Discrimination: WSS= a non-disabled employer is subsidised cost of disability. BUT when we ‘hire ourselves’ as disabled self-employed=no support. We lose supports & must bear full ourselves!
Extend the WSS to self-employed disabled people DFI

TRUE but work should not cost us - when accepting work means we risk/lose disability supports like the medical card then we literally cannot afford to work. Ref INDECON Report of over €10,000 a year. Meeting disability cost=prerequisite to being able to work.

Looking forward to reading this important paper. People unable to work due to disability are most likely to be unable to afford to keep their home warm - 1 in 5 last year.

Action needed on and the extra .
