Saw a sold-out @DugsiDayz show tonight! Took me back to my teen dugsi (madrasah) experience 😂. Shoutout to the production team & actors for an amazing show! Admire Ayan Mahamoud MBE Kayd Somali Week Festival for always supporting Somali creatives to tell their stories authentically!👏🏾

You know what it’s like to leave a show & feel immense pride. @DugsiDayz was powerfully hilarious & showcased what can happen when “Give us the stage and trust us'. Written, produced, co-directed by British Somalis. Full house show at Rich Mix absolutely incredible. ✨

So wonderful to see such a joyful play centred around Somali girls @DugsiDayz was truly excellent. I hope we can see more of these stories and more audiences can experience it
