'To look at what works we need to not replicate the systems that dont. Strangely, one of the systems that do protect BME women are police here. Its a deeper conversation, and a longer conversation. What replaces it, what does it look like?'

'Re: defunding police, there is a correlation between neoliberalism and the continual removal of community based services. Even our safeguarding arrangements are punitive measures..controlling women. We need to think about it systemically, its not just about the police.'

The incredible (((Huda Jawad))) explaining how has exacerbated the fragmentation in the system. Explaining the role of communities - can be used for safety/ security but also to control. Explaining the work of Faith&VAWG Coalition

Such a powerful, important and timely panel. After watching the government voting against protections for migrant women and those with no recourse to public funds in the in parliament last night - this was a powerful call to action.

Yes! Brilliant point by (((Huda Jawad)))..what are thinking when we hear woman? Even when we hear victim? ensures that it is not women of colour & this needs to be acknowledged & addressed through policy commissioning & legislation so ALL women can be safe
