Learning from Sue Taylor Balance North East about awareness campaigns re alcohol and cancer. Denial and disbelief around alcohol reinforced by industry. Campaigns have increased awareness locally to much higher rates than national low levels. Credible messaging is key. #GAPC2023

One of the best talks at #GAPC2023 so far. WHO/Europe explain that apparent decrease in alcohol consumption in Europe is almost entirely a result of decrease in Russia. Many countries have had increases and death rate remains shockingly high.
