I have made the decision to resign from the board of ILMIreland. This has not been an easy choice, but it is necessary to prioritise my commitments effectively. The challenges that disabled people face in protecting and claiming our rights are immense.

I love feminist politics! No big fanfare when the Taoiseach arrives in Northern Ireland. However, both the leader and deputy leader, both women are much more agreeable once conversations have happened. That is the way to do politics.

The Focus now needs to be on local and European elections, ensuring that disabled peoples voices are heard. The rights of disabled people were heard in the care referendum. The Green paper was scrapped. We need to build on them. Nothing About Us Without Us! Rights Not Charity!

It is essential to collaborate with disabled people, family members, allies, rep orgs, political reps nationally. With my candidacy in the next Seanad election, alongside full-time work and family responsibilities, there are simply not enough hours in the day.
