Yes, history does repeat itself. Who remembers the World War II Battle of Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands and why it was fought? Imperial Japan was building a strategic airfield on Guadalcanal to cut off the U.S. from Australia. Now China is doing it.

A Funeral was held on Monday for Cpl Manuel John Pimentel, of Medford, MA. He served with Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, and was killed in action on September 24, 1942, at Guadalcanal. His remains were recently recovered.
