Sandwiched between the Glasgow Necropolis and the Tennent's Brewery, the Lady Well is a truly ancient part of the city. One of a series of holy wells in the city, its origins go back hundreds and possibly even thousands of years.

A walk down to Holywells Park for the superb Otter. Kept local in the afternoon with a brief walk at Wherstead Strand seeing four Great Northern Divers, several Red-breasted Mergansers and a few Goldeneye

Thomas Gainsborough (1727-1788) created this beautiful painting of Holywells Park in 1748-1750. It's his only known landscape of Ipswich and depicts the park's man-made reservoirs. The park is still a stunning part of our town, extending over 69 acres.

My walk to work on Thursday took me through a slightly different route, down at the bottom of Holywells park is the twisty tree. I love this one too.

An otter (European otter) has been spotted at Holywells Park, Ipswich! 🦦

The elusive otter is one of our top predators, feeding mainly on fish, waterbirds, amphibians and crustaceans. These mammales are rare in Suffolk, so it’s always so exciting to see them!

Cornwall and in particular West Penwith has a abundance of Holy Wells and Cloutie trees. St.Euny’s Well near the ancient village of Carn Euny is one of the harder wells to find in the area, but is still visited by locals.

We are so happy everyone is loving the images we are sharing for the theme today is .

Here is ours taken from one of the large mills that used to surround the Wet Dock. What look like mountains in the distance are trees that form Holywells Park.
