The past week I’ve been in Iceland attending #iclaf2022 , where I presented my poster on the genetic overlap of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and hypertension.
My 1st conference was brilliant. I met great people, learnt a LOT, and even saw 2 humpback whales.

Great talk by Grace Bingham on circulating monocytes in COVID ILD. We have been studying monocytes in COVID-19 recovery with the Lizzie Mann UoM in Manchester, UK with interesting results too. Would be good to catch up and chat! #ICLAF2022

Enjoyed presenting my research at #ICLAF2022 #curePF . We show for the first time that mTORC1 rather than mTORC2 is responsible for mediating the wide-ranging pro-fibrotic effects of TGF-β1! Such an enjoyable experience at my first conference 🤩 Thank you to Medical Research Council UCL Health
Absolutely gobstruck by the magnitude of impact of sulfate & other particulate-induced mortality from Iceland’s volcanic eruptions throughout history. Our work shows even at low levels SO4 is super toxic in pts with fILD #PollutionMatters #ICLAF2022
