If you asked a CG artist to photoscan a mirror ball or transparent bottle, they'd laugh at you and (correctly) say it's impossible. Photogrammetry can't deal with reflective surfaces and require a LOT of work to fix.

I'm blown away by the new ability of #InstantNeRF to connect up a VR headset - image quality is stunning on a Quest2.
If you have an NVidia GPU it's so quick to get up and running and training your own NeRFs.

📷 Almost 100 images to render #Whymper #glacier with NVIDIA AI Developer #InstantNeRF during this summer. No residual snow on the side rock walls (4100 m), but the dots on the surface were us drilling 11 meters of accumulation from different seasons, mainly carried by the wind. ❄️

ANYCOLOR様から素敵なパッケージのサマーギフトをいただいたので、パッケージ残しておきたいなあ……と思ってinstant-ngpでNeRF3次元再構成を試してみました。が、缶詰は背面が文字しか映ってないのでCOLMAPでのカメラ姿勢推定の初期解が収束せず、全て前面にカメラ位置が来てますね #InstantNeRF
InstantNeRFも当時は感動したが同じソースで3DGS作ると段違いの品質。（もちろんNeRF側も進化はしているのでもう少しよくなると思うが。）3DGSは博物館展示物の3D可視化にとてもよいと思います。iPhoneの写真からPostshotで生成。
