why is partner income tested a thing? .
-This leaves the person open to being stuck in abusive controlling relationship.
-stops them from being independent.
-causes stress on both parties as 1 has lost $’ & the other has to fork out $’s

As a carer I’m only “allowed to work 24hrs a week” (including travel time) any more and I’d be kicked off the carers pension as to C’Link. I’d not be caring for Travis, who do they think cares for him in the other 144 hrs in a week.

Carer issue again- Cares pension (for me) works out to $4.33 per hr.
On call 24/7. Public holidays, weekends, graveyard shifts.
Even when the person is at respite or at their lifeskills place/class. The carer is still on call in case of emergency

Because the rates of JobSeeker are so low, I have to work my casual job in order to have barely enough money to pay for all of my bills.

I can't take the time I need to study, so my academic outcomes are compromised because I need to have money.

Why is it that people on welfare who try to get help themselves finically by having part time jobs just to provide the essentials for them selves slugged a “a tax” 60¢ in every dollar they earn after a certain amount and have that deducted from the payments

When the rate was raised temporarily in the first year of the pandemic, my depression went into remission for the first (and only) time. I was able to eat better. I bought a new fridge and a new mattress for my bed. And I saved a little for a rainy day.

Why is the dsp below the Henderson line? Disabled ppl inherently have a higher cost of living through no fault of their own. Whether it be food issues, mobility, sensory, etc. These issues cause extra expenses.

$260 a fortnight. That's my DSP payment. And I complain to Centrelink about financial hardship due to a debt I unfairly owe over their mess ups, and they tell me that i'm LUCKY to be in my situation. I have that on paper.

I’d like to see MO’s ditched. What I read from the people who do have to do these. MO’s just add to the stress of being in poverty & seem to suck more time & money from a person which they could actually put towards helping themselves

But it's more than leaving,it's a life of #poverty reliance on centrelink, who punish you for everything leaving kids to leave education early,to work in retail ,who then are trapped in a lifetime of poverty. Doesn't seem fair. #LeftBehindCommittee
