This weekend, members of #MDFR ’s Community Affairs, the HELP Program, and the Chaplaincy Program took part in Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert III’s Family Fun & Fellowship Day. The event allowed our team to engage with local community members & share fire and life safety information.

#ICYMI : Yesterday, #MDFR held a special event for Take Your Child to Work Day in our training facilities. The children in attendance had the unique opportunity to participate in interactive, hands-on activities to learn about firefighting and the MDFR work environment.

On April 24, over 15 #MDFR units responded to a #FirstAlarm grass fire near SW 112 Ave. & SW 256 St. Air Rescue was dispatched to conduct water drops to aid in extinguishing the flames. MDFR units continued working with the FL Forest Service to bring the fire under control.

On April 21, over 10 #MDFR units responded to a First Alarm house fire near NW 19 Ave. & NW 187 St. Crews promptly initiated a fire attack, bringing it under control. There were no reported injuries & the cause of the fire is under investigation.

On April 25, #MDFR responded to a #FirstAlarm house fire near NW 146 St. and NW 2 Ave. Units were able to locate the source of the fire in a bedroom, initiated a fire attack & put the fire out. There were no reported injuries, but unfortunately, one house pet perished in the fire

Yesterday marked a new beginning for the 29 recruits who were officially inducted into the #MDFR Cadet Program. The Cadet Program brings together young adults aspiring for a future in the fire service or a medical-related field to use their skills & enhance their training.
