Oncor teams & resources worked thru the night & continue work this morning to assess damage, make repairs, replace equipment, and restore power to communities impacted by Wed night’s severe storms, which produced up to 76mph damaging wind gusts and at least 1 confirmed tornado.

Storm response personnel are working as quickly & safely as possible across all impacted areas & urge customers to always keep safety a top priority. Stay away from storm debris & damaged areas. If you see a down line, leave the area, keep others/pets away & call 911 immediately

And it's not just Plano. It's all over the Metroplex! Here's the Oncor outage map. Hard to believe in 2022 we can't get this right!

Hardest hit areas include Killeen, Temple, Waco, Palestine and Nacogdoches where electric poles and towers were damaged by winds and where toppled trees and branches have significantly impacted electric equipment.

Oncor just texted again about our power outage.
3 a.m. then 7 a.m. Now they need 12 more hours. It happens frequently now, and the outages are lengthy. We went over a week w/o power after the winter storm last year.
This is starting to feel very 3rd worldish!

With forecasts predicting the chance for severe weather across TX through Thur, Oncor teams are deployed & prepared to respond to any weather impacts. Customers are encouraged to remain prepared for storms, which includes checking and updating your storm safety kit. #StormSafety

Following the destructive storms with upwards of 75 mph winds, lightning, and flooding rain that impacted several communities in the Temple, Killeen, Waco, and surrounding areas, Oncor teams are out in force actively working to restore power through the night. 1/2
