Teacher pay is a only symptom of the problems education is facing. The cause is the systematic underfunding of our schools, causing a recruitment and retention crisis which will take a generation to overcome.

You have the power to solve this.

The teacher strikes this week are very definitely your fault Rishi.
You could have published the Review Body reports and started talks with the unions.
Instead you say you will ignore them.
You are ignoring the crisis in our schools.

Ignoring the findings of the Independent Pay Review body is the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting loudly when you don't like what you hear. Come to the table, negotiate, show the teaching profession some respect.
