Penthrox was a winner last few days in freezing temps at Blackcomb. Buys 5 min for IV narcotics etc. So much lighter than a tank of Entonox getting into scene. ‘New’ for this part of the world.

I’m a convert. Penthrox is freaking amazing. Nasty mid shift spiral femur fracture. Morphine and Entonox pre-hospital and patient was no where near analgesed enough to get a Kendrick splint near her. 5 minutes after a puff on Penthrox = splint on and fracture reduced. Amazing!

I had some uncomfortable dental work done today which got me thinking a bit. Are there any alternatives to standard dental procedural analgesia other than regional blocks and possibly nitrous.. without going into IV sedation?
