Finally, the official start of the #DEHEAT expedition with #RVBelgica . After leaving Reykjavik, the ship immediately turned into Hvalfjördur ('whale fjord'), where the first four days of fieldwork will take place.

Today we say goodbye to beautiful Reydarfjördur, the last sampling site of the #DEHEAT expedition with #RVBelgica . Enjoy the surroundings where we had the honour and pleasure of working for four days.

After long days of packing, equipment is now being shipped to Iceland on HowBigIsBelgica.be. From 25.6 to 12.7.23 a team of scientists will conduct a cruise regarding 'Natural analogies and system-scale modelling of marine enhanced silicate weathering'.
