Happy birthday to my one and only, though Rangoli is always happy and giggly but I know essentially deep down she is a mom, here’s another addition to her family.... friends meet Gappu Chandel... 💕
After Rangoli’s wedding for more than a decade there was no wedding in the family all thanks to me but today my brothers Karan and Aksht broke the jinx and our ancestral house is drowned in wedding festivities, two weddings in three weeks starting with Karan ki Haldi today 🧡
Our family is hosting traditional pahadi dham for the newly wed Karan and Anjali today, Anjali can be seen in traditional attire, sharing a picture with Rangoli as well from the ongoing event ❤️
In the cramped space next to her parked car, our tenant makes a rangoli every morning after washing the floor. 1000s of tiny rituals like this preserve the continuity of our ancient civilization across millennia. Is it art? Is it meditation? Is it religion? It is Sanatana Dharma!
My mother, 81, struggling with dementia, fighting anxiety, osteoporosis and unable to continue her old active life, revives her skills at rangoli. She was an ace at this art. Today, I am thrilled that she even remembers so much. ❤️. And fights to fend off the slow memory loss.
Our whole generation grew up watching Jeetendra and Leena Chandavarkar play badminton in 'Dhal gaya din, ho gayi shaam' song during Rangoli/Chitrahar/etc.
That song probably deserves more credit than anything for motivating amazing PV Sindhu to win two Olympic medals.
