Yesterday, as part of #RoadSafetyWeek we carried out a speeding detection and prosecution operation with 217 vehicle checkpoints, 841 fixed penalty notices issued and 7 arrests made targeting those who make our roads more dangerous.

Motorists, when overtaking, give motorcyclists, cyclists & horse riders as much room as you would when overtaking a car. Wait behind them if it is unsafe or not possible to do this, & for passing horse riders, do so at a speed of under 10mph.
