Another way of showing the disproportionate impact of the lockdown on the well-being of young adults:

2 years ago those 18-34 were the most likely to report high overall life satisfaction. In April they were the least likely.

It's hard to compare how men and women fared under lockdown by just asking. Men tend to under-report finding things tough going.
