Peahens lay 5 to 7 eggs every other day, usually in the evening. These will hatch in around 28 days. 'Tim' stays vigilant throughout this vulnerable period.

Moorhen Althorp
Often just seen as the small black water bird that flits about in our rivers, lakes and ponds. They are in fact quite attractive, keep an eye out for the thin red 'garter' at the top of their legs.

A brace of inquisitive Axis deer at Althorp today.
The breed is also known as Chital. They were enjoying the sun`s warmth near to the ironstone wall.
