We’re calling the #TX06 runoff for Republican Jake Ellzey. He’ll narrowly defeat Trump-endorsed Republican Susan Wright, who was widely considered the frontrunner. This is a substantial embarrassment for Trump and a victory for Dan Crenshaw, who aggressively supported Ellzey.

The elections in Texas May 1 were a very disturbing awakening that despite Rs enacting stricter voting laws, the failure of the power grid in Feb. AND actions that led to Jan 6, Texas Democrats did NOT turn out, giving up a chance for a Dem to be in a run off for TX06. Not good.

Special elections are special, and this one was no exception.

Ellzey (R) still up 53%-47% over Wright (R) w/ all early votes now reporting. But with only 20k ballots counted out of 493k registered voters in #TX06 (4.2%), there's still a long way to go here.

In #TX06 , the margin between Wright (R) and Ellzey (R) swung 12 pts towards Ellzey between the 5/1 jungle primary and the 7/27 runoff.

In red Ellis/Navarro counties, it swung 7 pts towards Ellzey. But in much bluer Tarrant county, it swung 14 pts towards Ellzey - about double.

Jake Ellzey (R) off to early 53%-47% lead over Trump-endorsed Susan Wright (R) in #TX06 runoff. But, these are early ballots and Wright overperformed w/ EDay votes in the initial round. Still very early.

I am proud of the campaign we ran, and regret nothing. This was always going to be a long shot, but I hope that others around the country will do the same, and fight for our party and our country.
