It’s been days without power for Tulsa, Oklahoma. I’m not seeing any coverage in mainstream media. Already confirmed deaths as temperatures soar.

OK is NOT okay. 🧵

The damaging MCS over Tulsa, OK is spitting out some huge red sprites with green ghosts at the top fringe. Back of the camera from Pampa, TX, in the ballpark of 300 miles away.

Sprites are a 'new' phenomenon. Into the mid-1990s sprites were thought to be a myth. Modern technology lets us see them in high resolution. Last night, a severe storm in Tulsa produced huge sprites every 2-3 minutes visible from Texas

is having to throw out bags and bags of ruined food. Thankfully our governors heart goes out to us. I tried to tell my freezer that, but it didn’t seem to make a difference.

So many people still without electricity in Tulsa. I miss Germany where they bury their power lines below ground and don’t lose electricity during bad weather. The US needs to catch up to other countries on infrastructure (among other things).
