I also hope that there're more projects and activities that can encourage young people from becoming psychologists and psychiatrists. I think it's high time that we talk about why there're so few practitioners in the Philippines.

for me, self care and our own mental health din talaga. paulit ulit siya but hindi pa talaga natatapos yung stigma. Kasi hanggang walang change of behaviour sa response ng tao sa mental health, hindi talaga matatapos itong stigma na to.

Agree with you, K 100%! Especially right now that the number of our mh workers and professionals are not enough to supply the demand. We need to empower and equip more people to give appropriate support.

Agree! Especially in the mental health space, advocates are not just there to lobby for policies or laws, but they also become a support system for people who have long been deprived of an enabling and nurturing environment.

I hope that community-based mental health is more prominent in the coming years! These initiatives are highly localized and tailored to the needs of the community.

Going to our 8th year, what pressing issues around mental health do you think we should champion more? Or you want to talk about more?

Through their platforms, big or small, mh champions bring the importance of mental health closer to the people. Through shared experiences and own effort to understand mental health, these champions creates ripples of change in the community.

Join organizations, join programs, and become a champion or ally yourself. Refraining from spreading dis/mis/malinformation is also incredible and necessary work.

And as an advocate and not a an RPsy, i hope that there are more ways to train in, and become more knowledgable about mental health through formal and informal channels. this is important to supplement our MH workers and professionals.

That's true, being a mental health champion, in one way or the other gives our closest friends permission to be vulnerable and share w/ you things that bother them. As champions, it's also important to be equipped where to direct our friends for appropriate support.
