Evelyn Eason of Suffolk, VA was able to successfully grow peanuts in a pot for her homeschool #peanutgrowing project. 🥜 🌱

Peanuts contain 25-50% moisture when first dug, and must be dried to 10% or less to be stored. They are left in windrows to partially dry for 4+ days in the field, before being combined. 🥜 🌱

Once our #VirginiaCarolinasPeanuts have dried in the field, farmers will drive their combines over the windrows separating the #peanuts from the vine. 👩‍🌾

The peanuts are blown into a hopper, then dumped into wagons to further dry. 🥜
