The importance of building strong partnerships has been one of the main takeaways of this year’s #WCEF2024 , says our Head of the Circular Economy and Sustainable Development Division, Karine Measson. 👇

On the sidelines of #WCEF2024 , the SWITCH to Green Coordination Meeting took place last week. The meeting aimed to enhance coherence and coordination of EU supported green and circular economy initiatives, including the 🇪🇺funded project of Green Policy Platform in which UNEP is a partner.

Today Brussels hosts the #WCEF2024 . Embracing #coprocessing our industry repurposes waste into material and energy sources, displacing natural resources and fossil fuels. Currently 53% of operations utilise alternative sources, aiming for 60% by 2030. #WasteToWorth 🔄️WCEF2024

With the help of EU Neighbourhood & Enlargement 🇪🇺 and OECD ➡️ Better Policies for Better Lives, 🇲🇰 has developed a Circular Economy Roadmap.

This important tool for the Government and the businesses was also presented during the #WCEF2024 held in Brussels.

We closed last week on a positive note. We held significant bilateral discussions with Switch To Green and UN Development centred on a Circular Economy Resource centre and the switch to Circular Economy in East and Southern Africa.
