BambuSlicer now has built in the choice of parking the head (noisy and slow) or snapping a photo at each layer while the printhead is in motion for timelapses.

Testing out PrusaSlicer’s Organic supports and BambuSlicer’s Tree supports (with and without interface layers) and traditional supports.

.Bambu Lab, serious issue with BambuSlicer or the cloud. Prints not going through when sent, but then they send later. After an overnight print for me. This happened last night and I’ve confirmed 2 other cases from users last night. Anyone else? #bambulab #3dprinting

One interesting thing BambuSlicer does is to add more perimeters instead of the jiggly line BS that PrusaSlicer does to ensure vertical shell thickness. This not only #3Dprints dramatically faster, it doesn’t shake the printer to pieces when printing.

#3dPrinting statues with BambuSlicer’s tree support make them look like they are being assimilated by underground aliens.

Twitter was just talking yesterday about adding a 3D text tool to 3D print slicers and 💥BOOM💥 There it is, added to Bambu Lab BambuSlicer!

(I’m sure they’ve been working on it for a while, but the timing is great, lol.)

🤔I guess this explains why we started getting BambuSlicer entries in our DB shortly after releasing PrusaSlicer 2.4.0 🤭 We introduced opt-in to anonymously send us system info with this version. The Bambu reskin looks nice though 🥸 What are your thoughts on this? 1/2

FWIW, I hate this filament. It BONDS to buildplates. I learned to print it on a raft on the Prusa. BambuSlicer doesn’t seem to offer that option. I tore the print getting it off the (gluestick coated) buildplate. The Bambu does have a better overhang surface finish.

Another thing missing from Bambu Lab’s BambuSlicer: Random seams. I painted a wide seamline on the back of this model and wanted random seas so they aren’t so apparent. 'Nearest' was the next best option in Bambu but it still leaves seam scars.

As a slicer user, I’m super stoked about the friendly(?) rivalry between PrusaSlicer and BambuSlicer right now. Great to see a little competition speeding up the usually glacially slow progress of adding and refining features in the slicers! #WeAllWin #3DPrinting

David Dixon Sebastiaan Dammann Joel Telling - 3D Printing Nerd ✋ No I’m not. They are using an open source slicer so any improvements often need to be or are shared. He refers to the multiplate feature in the BambuSlicer.
They are using closed source firmware/electronics. I didn’t say anything about sharing that though I wish they would.

To clarify, these screenshots are from the latest #PrusaSlicer beta and the latest release of #BambuSlicer .
