A great example of Canadian design nationalism the LRC (light rapid comfortable) was intended to be the backbone of VIA rail's fleet capable of high speeds on conventional tracks by tilting. Designed in partnership with Alcan and thus was made of aluminum.

This is news that will come as no surprise to anyone who has read Eric Collier's 'Three Against The Wilderness,' (1959), which describes just such a beaver reintroduction project in the Chilcotin Plateau in the 1920s/1930s.

It's and you should really celebrate like they did in City of Prince George in 1910, with a good ol' fashioned 'funniest face grinning through a horse-collar' competition! It's not your fault if others don't get the 'yoke'...

Recent thrift-store find: a pocket account book distributed by the The Vancouver Sun, probably in the 1920s. At the time, an office/store employee making $65/month could splurge $10 monthly on little luxuries like streetcar fare and church and still save $5/month (1/2)
