This makes my baby geriatrician “history is everything” heart so sad — 40% won’t remember a loss of consciousness and 1/3rd will have no symptoms of hypotension 😭

So much learning Robert Briggs
OH is not good for older adults ➡️ more falls & fractures
1. Amnesia for events & lack of awareness of low BP
2. Low BP dips < 100 on 24BP ⬆️ falls / fractures
3. Watch out Bermuda Triangle - cognition/mobility /OH
4. B blockers & SSRI 🛑

Do you know which drugs to stop first in orthostatic hypotension? You might be surprised! The best drug is losartan, says laramitchell — and give it at night

Deture loss is frequent, expensive, and time-consuming or even impossible to replace. Does your ward have a system to check eg meal trays and bed linen before tidied away?

I’ve always found the effect of “placebo” which Prof wagg describes as attention, coaching and conservative therapies striking in OAB trials.

Closing words from President elect Jugdeep Dhesi from this year’s Spring — we need to be getting our message out cohesively about delivering good health care for older people, and crutially how to be able to do that effectively and happily. “We are stronger together!”

The challenge of the LeedsFrailtyEducation is choosing how much to squeeze in says Sean Ninan.

I love this picture (although I've seen enough kids try to sit in cardboard boxes to question whether that box would retain any structural integrity...)
