In the first 10 cull zones in the 5 years from 2016 to 2021 the number of cattle herds with confirmed TB have plummeted from 317 to 87. This is highly encouraging for farmers who have been paying cull companies to remove badgers.

Bergehetzer DefraStats Yes the % of cattle herds confirmed to be infected have been reducing for a number of years in worst infected counties. However in Devon this reducing trend may have stopped in 2021. Many badgers were removed in 2016. Not so in more recent years.

The % of cattle herds restricted by TB in Pembrokeshire Wales is extremely high as was the case in Gloucestershire and Devon before badger culling started in 2013 & 2016. £5m has been wasted vaccinating badgers from 2012 to 2015 in Pembs.
