We use 'place' & downstays to build impulse control, but our clients with multiple dogs often ask how we achieve this with the chaos of more than one dog in the house. The answer? Train them separately until their impulse control is strong enough to handle the added distraction.

Downstays are so versatile. She truly is THAT girl! Especially if you’re looking for stability in your dog or you’re simply working through issues such as reactivity and having guests over. You will forever be using a downstay in your dogs routine.

Esmé had a big day yesterday! We went to the food bank and saw some pals. She was a little antsy but did good with downstays and just chilling in a distracting environment. We worked on DPT when I started to feel unwell and she was overall a 10/10 good gorl.
