The House has SUSTAINED Governor Kelly's veto of SB 233 (banning gender-affirming healthcare for minors). 82-43. I voted NO to protect the veto.

To our Trans Kansans: I see you. You belong here. And I will never stop fighting for you and our LGBTQ+ community.

This morning I walked into the Kansas Statehouse very unsure about the outcome of voter suppression & anti-transgender bills.
Feels good to leave 12 hours later knowing we’ve killed every attack on democracy & the rights of LGBTQ Kansans in 2024 🌈🎊🗳️

Trans activist state rep Heather Meyer's statements aren't factual and deliberately attempt to skirt the issue of blockers and hormones that 100% are used in Kansas on kids under the age of 18. There is also evidence that surgeries are being performed.

With the veto of SB 233 sustained, I feel like I can breathe.

This session and fight has been so so so tough.

I'm shaking but I can take a moment to breathe and prepare for whatever advocacy comes next.

We need trans people talking to as many legislators as possible.

Today we celebrated the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education. Many of the non elected officials in this picture attended black schools. It was an honor to be in their presence.

Breaking: the KS Legislature has failed to override Gov. Kelly’s veto on SB 233 today. It will NOT become law.
This extreme attempt to ban access to healthcare for trans youth would also have censored a huge variety of conduct by state employees.

The version of the THREE STOOGES, Dennis Pyle, John Doll and Rob Olson just stood with Laura Kelly and the Democrats to deny commonsense, practical tax relief to EVERY KANSAN!
