Kate Bradbury π³οΈβπ & Ed Phillips you were of course correct! Thank you!
I've had #leafcutterbees every year, so I'm used to their nest cell building, but I was observing her for over an hour & was confused because I saw no leaves, the white must have been a lot of white pollen!

Can anyone #identify this #solitarybee please? Watched her this afternoon & she's not carrying mud/leaves like our #masonbees & #leafcutterbees but seems to have white material on her abdomen possibly #pollen or maybe a #woolcarderbee ?

Day 2 of #30dayswild with The Wildlife Trusts Kate Bradbury π³οΈβπ #LeafCutterBees were on my Rosa Rugosa - it never flowers but this is the best reason to keep it. They flew past the Madame Alfred Carriere and Scarborough Lass roses to get to this one so they must love those leaves!
No nesting #LeafCutterBees at the #Allotment this year but it's good to know they've been about. This on field rose / Rosa arvensis.

Meet Nico Boutiette, who works with our Earth Center! Nico has just placed a box of native leafcutter bee eggs to hatch with the warm weather. Leafcutter bees are important local pollinators that help plants and flowers reproduce! ππ #RollingRidgeMA #LeafcutterBees #Pollinators
