I just discovered Welsh Lovespoons! They are so beautiful! Men traditionally made a lovespoon from a single piece of wood, as a love token for their loved maidens! The oldest ones are from 17th centuries! Here are some photos from The lovespoon collection at Amgueddfa Cymru.

On Valentines Day, a beautifully carved Welsh lovespoon. Personally, I would prefer something like this rather than receiving red roses!
