“Say fellas, you know how we only got 10,000 NC public school teachers to quit last year? Ya think if we pretend they’re all socialist indoctrinators and give them a bunch of extra busy work they don’t have time for we can get the rest to quit?”

NC now ranks 42nd in beginning teacher pay and 41st in overall teacher pay.

Yet Republican leaders want to funnel $625M for millionaires to subsidize tuition at private institutions.

Why not make NC schools the best in the country?

NC voters need to know who their candidates are.

Michele Morrow is running for Superintendent of K-12 schools. She uses the “r word” to describe students with learning disabilities.

Our students deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

This ain’t it.

The $500,000,000 being used to fund private schools for families already paying for private schools could be used to hire 10,000 classroom teachers. There are thousands of classrooms across the state that don't have a teacher. Yet this is the Republican priority.

BLM in their X bio

I would assume they, too, rebuke a time post-Civil Rights Act, when students were intimidated on college campus based on their skin color

Today, students are being intimidated on college campus based on their faith

They are silent.

The Republican representatives want public school teachers to post lessons online so that all of the unqualified unlicensed private school teachers can steal our lessons. Why aren’t state funded private school teachers required to post lessons online?

This is how the deliberate Republican dismantling of public education has occurred in NC since 2010. Deprive professionals of the resources they need to be content and successful. Pass laws to demean and undermine their work in the classroom.

Death by a thousand cuts.

Just months after tripling funding for school vouchers, NC Republicans are about to spend another half billion on vouchers for their wealthy donors.

This money will primarily go to wealthy families who have never sent their kids to public schools and never would.

Liberty Christian School in Durham, NC got nearly $1m in public voucher funding this year.

This school reserves the right to expel students who listen to 'inappropriate' music at home.

The public should not be funding institutions with these control issues.

BREAKING: NCGOP's attacks on public education are endless and ongoing– the NCGA appropriations committee just approved $463 million in taxpayer-funded private school vouchers, taking these essential funds away from our public schools.

Let’s be clear about what HB823 does:

Taxpayer dollars pay the private school tuition for the wealthy at the expense of our public schools.

We need accountability for taxpayer funded private schools and start addressing NC’s critical needs.

Why is it always about money with these folks?

When NC GOP started school vouchers they claimed it was about giving options to families who are struggling.

Now they have eliminated income eligibility so we are subsidizing private school tuition for rich famiies.

Is this for the benefit of private schools hiring folks with no teaching credentials to grift public school lessons?
It's not for parents and students who already have digital access to public school classroom materials.
