a hilariously move is “predicting” a code orange (contrary to every other institution) and then announcing that it’s been “upgraded” to maroon.

We had high expectations from these NFL players but the reality was disappointing -and they ended up on our Draft Bust list

This “shift to virtual” is a joke . Note the city of Phila communication which states that air quality has improved, and outdoor programming will resume today.

Yet Philadelphia Schools shifts to virtual.

Please examine your data sources bc they are clearly not right.

Tomorrow is going to be asynchronous for So in reality this means movie day. Any of the following last day of school movies appropriate for a 10 year old? 1. Dazed & Confused. 2. Can’t Hardly Wait. 3. Superbad 4. Say Anything. 5. Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Many neighborhood K-8s can't offer algebra to 8th graders - an important pathway into STEM & more. At Nebinger, a parent volunteer worked with some students to bridge the gap. But these kids are on a mission to bring algebra to all district schools. inquirer.com/news/philadelp…

The model is always: 1) do nothing when you should do something 2) have parents, students and teachers yell at you for it 3) do something that doesn’t make sense when it’s too late.

Got an email from a rockstar educator who’s leaving SDP for all the reasons you expect: no resources, unsupported, expected to do more with even less in the fall. We talk til we’re out of breath about how student success requires talented and stable teachers, yet…

They're very few good options, but announcing that schools and students would not be held accountable for their attendance during a climate crisis would be a nice idea

I think when we talk about celebrations in terms of 'decorum' and 'norms' we really need to think about what norms, whose ideas of decorum, and where those ideas come from.

I'm not making my child get up at 6 am tomorrow morning to get to school on time and sit around to do nothing in a building without air conditioning because grades were finalized on June 5 and WHY THE FUCK WOULD THE SCHOOL BOARD DO THAT TO CHILDREN

I just don’t think this is sufficient given the circumstances. There are high school kids who have to walk up to 1.5 miles to and from school (that’s the minimum distance for a Fare Card).
