I was doing my 2nd year bcom at Christ College when floods happened. Some of those viral videos of Tovino you see were shot by me. We spent days in the camp set up by college & I remember random people from nearby homes coming to us with 'pothichoru' even at late hours. (1/3)

Thousands in Kerala are cooking an extra portion of rice, sambar and sabzi. They don't know who they are cooking for but that it will feed a needy person in a hospital. Every day, over 40,000 meal parcels are distributed under the 'Hrithayapoorvvam Pothichoru' campaign.

A typical pothichoru comprises the matta rice, thoran, mezhukkupuratti, moru curry, pickle & chammanthi. Omelette, fish or chicken fry.
A dish which started as meals for people who travel to long routes due to in access to restaurants back in the days.
