The Navy will be moving non-essential personnel out of the blast zones while loading nuclear missiles this week (at a base that's no longer in compliance w/ DoD safety standards). At the very least, civilians deserve the same safety considerations and notices.

Obviously, the Navy is well aware of the risks during these operations and moves all of it's own non-essential personnel out of 'harms way'. Doesn't the public deserve the same consideration?

The Bangor base should, at the very least, notify local residents when missile loading operations are taking place, given that's the most dangerous operation, and was what was taking place when the 2003 nuclear missile accident occurred. dvidshub.net/image/7813503/…
